MICHAELA DROPPOVA
Creative Director / Cinematographer

The creative team is led by Michaela, founder and Creative Director of Minds & Pictures. With qualifications in marketing and IT, Michaela attained her MA in Design Science (Digital Media) from The University of Sydney. Combining her passions for cinematography, web design and underwater videography, Michaela established Minds & Pictures in 2005. In the last two years she has also worked as a freelance camerawoman and editor. When filming underwater, Michaela employs her freediving skill of breath-holding to simplify and speed up shoots.

Michaela manages the development of multimedia and online projects from start to finish. From concept to delivery, Michaela oversees all assignments, budgets and deliverables. Michaela’s clients include corporate and industrial organizations and creative professionals. She is quickly developing a name as an outstanding creative designer, and has executed websites for some of the country’s top film professionals, including Jeremy Sims’ Pork Chop Productions and cinematographer Warwick Brown.

In her spare time, Michaela enjoys adventure sports such as rock climbing and canyoning. She competed at a national level in freediving, and is the current holder of one unofficial Australian freediving record.

DENBY WELLER
Writer / Director / Voice-over Artist

Denby trained at Maquarie University and the prestigious Actors Centre Australia, where she attained an Advanced Diploma in Performing Arts. As a professional director, Denby has made short films, promotional videos and one feature film, Coffee, which was produced in 2009. Denby brings a strong aesthetic and creative flair to our corporate and promotional work, ensuring that the videos are impressively finished and inspiring. She also handles all the voice-over requests ensuring that the final videos are of the highest quality.

As a freelance writer, Denby’s work has been published in Australia and internationally, for some of the world’s top publishers. Among her clients are Fairfax Media, Studio Magazines and Wildfire Publishing. In 2008, Denby accepted the post of Features Writer for Modern Wedding Magazine, and many of her clients are involved in the wedding industry. Writing content for Minds&Pictures clients has been a natural extention of her writing skills. By utilizing her superior understanding of marketing and consumer behaviour, she adds a high value to all of our projects.

In her spare time, Denby enjoys getting out of town on her motorbike and taking in a bit of nature.
